War Child UK are delighted to announce that to mark our 20th Anniversary year, we are establishing an inaugural Youth Engagement Panel (YEP). We pride ourselves on a participatory approach within our field contexts, and are very excited at the prospect of instilling direct youth perspectives into relevant aspects of our external engagement in the UK, and our internal decision making processes from our London Head Quarters.

We have had two young advisors who have helped War Child to lead the process and fed into the programme design and all relevant documents. Both of these advisors have direct experience of living through civil wars as children, and will be involved in establishing the panel and as mentors for YEP members.

What are we looking for?

We are looking to recruit 8-10 young people that meet the following criteria:

·18 – 25 years old

·Have direct experience of the issues that face children living in countries affected by conflict

·Can commit to a minimum of 1 year on the YEP (meeting on a quarterly basis)

·Live in or close to London (travel expenses covered within the M25 area)

Please note, however, if you know of individuals that you believe would excel in the role, exceptions to the above will be considered.

The deadline for the application is Thursday 21st November. Please see the link below to find details of the application process (two short paragraphs in answer to the questions provided), and for details of the benefits and opportunities available for War Child UK YEP members.
