CityLawLIVE, the conference where top City law firms meet the best talent, is now open for applications.
What is CityLawLIVE? A conference event at which competitively selected candidates spend the day with top firms and experience presentations, panels, workshops and networking sessions set at an advanced level for those capable of aiming for the highest echelons of the profession.
Why should I attend? If you have the potential to be a successful City lawyer, this is your chance to spend a full day meeting employers, gaining a better understanding of how law in business works and turning yourself from a good candidate into an outstanding one! With vacation scheme deadlines looming in the New Year, this is an opportunity to make sure you can hit the standards required.
When and where is it? The conference takes place on Friday 12 December 2014 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at One Great George Street, Westminster, London.
Which firms are taking part? Firms present on the day will include Clyde & Co, Edwards Wildman, Norton Rose Fulbright, Shearman & Sterling and Weil Gotshal & Manges, with more to be added. The event is sponsored by The University of Law.
What is the format of the day? Over the day you will attend two firm-led interactive workshops, two panel discussions and four networking sessions. There are multiple opportunities to learn and to shine!
What is the selection process? It is modelled on the type of selection process you would see at a top City law firm. We want to ensure that all attendees are realistic prospects for top employers. There is an attendance fee of £29 for all delegates.
What type of candidate will be selected? Law firms look for candidates with: consistently strong grades; a wide range of interests, activities and experiences; a motivated, 'can-do' attitude; and the ability to analyse complex issues in detail and clearly communicate their thoughts and conclusions. If this describes you, you should apply.
How do I apply? Applications are now being accepted online.
